About Our Facility

We Are Building A Skilled Workforce for Alabama

In June 2009, AIDT broke ground for The Maritime Training Center with construction beginning in July 2009.  The center officially opened on November 8, 2010.  Our 67,000 square foot facility features classrooms, computer lab, and a non-destructive testing lab.  Our state-of-the-art assembly room has the capacity to host large classes and events.  On the shop floor, there are 78 welding booths, a CNC plasma table, and a large lay-down yard with overhead crane access.  We also have a counter-balanced rough terrain forklift, aerial-lift,  and a 10-ton overhead crane and rigging for safety training.
