Introduction to Structural Welding, FCAW, and SMAW:

  • Welding safety
  • Welding equipment set up
  • Introduction to fillet weld positions 1F, 2F, 3F, and 4F
  • How to weld single pass and multi pass fillet welds

Course Objective

Structural Welding, FCAW, and SMAW:

  • Describe basic FCAW processes
  • Identify and describe welding cable terminations
  • Identify and describe external wire feeders and their controls
  • Identify and describe FCAW guns, contact tips, and nozzles
  • Identify various shielding gases and their related equipment
  • Identify SMAW safety related practices
  • Identify and describe SMAW Equipment
  • Identify essential variables related to SMAW
  • Identify common tools used to clean a weld
