Maritime Training | Who We Serve
We provide training and resources for Alabama residents 18 and older who are eligible to work in the U.S. and looking for options beyond traditional college.
Alabama Citizens
The Maritime Training Center focuses on craft training for individuals to increase their knowledge of the industry, teach different industry-specific trade skills, and help them become more of a valuable applicant and employee for their employer. Some courses that we offer are NCCER-certified, meaning these credentials are recognized nationally.

Select Course
Once you've found a course, click the Apply Now button to complete an application.

Complete Application
After the application period ends, applications are reviewed and trainees are noticed if they are selected for orientation/class via email.
Career Paths
Find a Career Path in the Maritime Industry
We have designed the MTC Career Path to guide these individuals through the various courses we offer to obtain the credentials necessary to begin a new career in structural fitting or welding.
Step 1: First Step Orientation
Everything you need to know about the classes we offer, how to apply, and the requirement to attend.
Step 2: Math & Measurements
Improve math skills that you will need to be successful in our structural fitting and welding classes
Step 3: 2-week intro classes (See what it's all about!)
Choose from Introduction to Structural Fitting, Introduction to Structural Welding, and Introduction to Pipe Fitting.
Step 4: 14-week Craft Training
Choose from NCCER Maritime Structural Fitting, NCCER Structural Welding, NCCER Pipe Fitting training. Career opportunities are available upon completion.
