Course Description

Fire Watch (86102): Prepares a worker to perform fire watch duties in support of welding and flame cutting activities. Describes the classes of fires and the methods used to extinguish them as well as the responsibilities of a person assigned as a fire watch.

Course Objective

The course objectives include:

  • Describe the different classes of fires and the methods used to extinguish them
  • Explain the duties and responsibilities of a fire watch
  • Describe the different types of fire extinguishers and their inspection requirements

Course Prerequisite

Students must be 18 years old or older and be eligible to work in the United States
