Course Description

Nondestructive Testing: Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 covers various topics, including:

  • Transducer Operation and Theory
  • Testing Techniques
  • Ultrasonic Instrumentation
  • Equipment Calibration
  • Testing Applications
  • Standards and Specifications

Please note: While Level 2 UT certification requires 800 hours in the method, documented, this is not required to take the class.

Course Objective

  • Review the theory, operating procedure and application of industrial ultrasonic inspection as a Level 1 Inspector, including choice of equipment and methods to use for various applications and documentation of inspection results
  • Attain a higher level of skill necessary for the detection of flaws of the severity considered detectable when operating according to given inspection procedures
  • Assist in material evaluations, procedure reviews, and procedure and technique development

Course Prerequisite

Students must be 18 years old or older, eligible to work in the United States, and have completed Nondestructive Testing: Visual Testing and Nondestructive Testing: Ultrasonic Testing Level 1
