Course Description

Overhead Crane covers the following:

Provides an overview of standards and regulations as well as classes and types of cranes. Teaches important crane components and accessories and how to properly inspect a crane before use. Includes daily checklist information and standard crane hand signals. Reviews safe crane operations, procedures, and rigging information.

Course Objective

The objectives of this course include:

  • Identify different classes and types of cranes
  • Identify various bridge/gantry crane components and accessories
  • Perform crane inspections with a daily checklist
  • Learn standard hand signals and safety procedures
  • Learn safe rigging practices and load calculations

Course Prerequisite

Students must be 18 years old or older and be eligible to work in the United States.
