If you are not selected, do not give up. We recommend that you continue to check our website and apply again whenever the next class is available.

Trainees will learn the following:

• FCAW-flux core welding, or flux core machine
• SMAW-shielded metal arc welding, or stick welding
• GMAW-gas metal arc welding, or aluminum welding
• Shipfitting - all aspects

The computer automatically scores the application and then they are ranked from highest to lowest score.

No. If you want to take a class that is not the one you were accepted for, you will have to reapply for the next one.

No, we do not have a waiting list.  If you are interested in taking another class, you must reapply.

No, but the class will be selected from the people who attend orientation.

If you've been selected for class, you will be notified the week after orientation.

We receive hundreds of applications for each class. Applications with the highest scores undergo a review process.  Then, approximately 100 applicants are invited to attend orientation.

After submitting your application, you will see a page that says, "Your application has been submitted and you have been logged in as a new registered user".  That means we have received your application.

You will receive an email inviting you to orientation.

An application with a status of Application Complete, Outdated, or Incorrect Information may be updated. One with a status of Under Review, Review Complete, or Project Closed may not be updated. Applicants wishing to update an application with a status of On Hold, Withdrawn, or Invalid must contact applyhelp@aidt.edu for assistance.
