AutoCAD® 3D covers the following:

Provides students with a broad introduction into 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modeling with a focus on both basic and advanced commands. Students learn how to transition from 2D design into 3D design by using materials of less-than-perfect information purposely provided to simulate “real-life” design conflict scenarios. Upon course completion, students will have an in-depth understanding of 3D CAD User Coordinate System (UCS) and how to create 3D objects for industrial production use from issued 2D drawings.

Students must:

  • be 18+
  • be eligible to work in the US
  • Learn to interpret 2D drawings used to create 3D shapes
  • Extrude basic 2D shapes and advance into 3D complex shape modifications
  • Layer management practices for complex shape components
  • Understand and use the USC coordinate system and apply it in the 2D & 3D design world
