SMAW Open Root Groove Welds–Plate (29112): Introduces various types of groove welds and describes how to prepare for groove welding. This class also describes the techniques required to produce various open V-groove welds.

Students must:

be 18+
be eligible to work in the US
have previous SMAW training or experience

Describe the technique required to produce various open V-groove welds

Must have previous SMAW training or experience. If you do not have prior SMAW training or experience, please apply for our NCCER Structural Fitting & Welding class. Upon completion, you can then apply for SMAW Plate & Pipe.
